- “CCTV Premium” Highlights Game and Variety Shows During Summer Vacation08/04/2011 - 02:50
CCTV Premium (CCTV-1) on July 28 held a press conference and released the channel’s August programming strategy.
Xu Wenguang, director at the Program Dept. of CCTV Premium, said at the conference that the channel will introduce two rebranded game and variety show programs. From July 31 to August 4, special editions of “Zhengda Variety Show” will air starting from 17:50 on the channel. Starting from August 15, special editions of “Wo Men You Yitao” (game show) will debut in the 18:00 timeslot. - CNTV Releases Strategy on “2012 Olympic” Coverage08/04/2011 - 02:49
CNTV (cntv.cn), CCTV’s new media platform, on July 27 held a press conference on “China Central TV New Media Coverage Strategy for the London Olympic Games” in Beijing. CNTV reiterated its exclusive broadcast (including live broadcast, and re-broadcast) rights to the 2012 Olympic Games on China’s internet / mobile platforms. In addition, a “London Action” media campaign was launched by CNTV at the press conference.

Online video portal CNTV.cn recently sued two local IPTV platforms, Jiangsu Telecom IPTV and Guangdong Telecom IPTV, for infringement of programs owned by CCTV. It is understood this is the first step in CCTV’s copyright protection campaign, and CNTV.cn will continue such legal procedures to sue other IPTV platforms who are suspected of content infringement.
CNTV.cn is the exclusive internet, mobile, radio, and IPTV broadcaster of all CCTV programs. - BesTV Connects with Dalian IPTV Platform08/04/2011 - 02:47
BesTV under Shanghai Media Group, and Yundong Media under Dalian Broadcasting TV Group jointly announced recently that the “Dalian IPTV Platform” has achieved connection with program resources owned by BesTV. According to Chen Haoyuan, COO at BesTV, BesTV and Yundong Media have set up a joint-venture for the IPTV project.
Dalian was one of the first batch of IPTV trial cities approved by SARFT in 2006. In 2010, Dalian was appointed as one of the trial cities for three-network convergence.

Online video portal Qiyi.com recently announced that it has dealt with a number of TV channels which will broadcast Qiyi’s in-house productions on their channels. The programs include “Global Film Info (Huanqiu Yingxun)”, “No. 1 Celebrity (Touhao Renwu)”, and “Entertainment News Review (Yule Menghuitou)”, which will respectively air on Hunan TV, Zhejiang TV, Shenzhen TV, Shaanxi TV, and etc.
It is reported that Qiyi produced over 10,000 minutes of in-house programs during Q2 2011.
