GAPP Releases Analysis Report on Journalism & Publishing Industry – 2011

GAPP released 2011 Analysis Report on Journalism & Publishing Industry on July 10 to show the industry continues to perform well.

China’s journalism publishing, printing and distribution sectors earned RMB1.46 trillion (US$0.23 trillion) last year, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%.

7,783 titles were exported overseas, 2,092 more than 2011. The ratio of exported and imported publications was 1:2.1 with imported publications decreasing compared to the year before.

155.75 billion copies of books, magazines, newspapers, CD/DVDs and electronic publications made US$73.97 million in export revenues in 2011.

Mainland China also realized publication export surplus to Taiwan for the first time. 1,656 titles were exported to Taiwan, while 1,497 Taiwan publications were imported to the mainland.
